Anna April 2025 Update

Anna here. It’s time for the quarterly update on the blog, life and travels. Read on if you’re interested in what makes In Search of Everywhere tick!
You can find my previous updates from the past year here: January 2025 • October 2024 • July 2024 • April 2024 • January 2024
January
The month after Christmas is always a bit dull, cold, boring and rainy… But this year, we got snow!
I didn’t do an awful lot in January to be honest, and basically no traveling. A highlight for getting out and about was a trip to Tittesworth Water in the snow. The snow always changes a landscape, and I love making footprints in fresh cover!

February
February was another quiet month. I think it’s always a bit meh month (unless you’re abroad of course), so it was exactly what I thought it would be.
A highlight was going to Bristol for a party for Oxfam festival volunteers right at the start of the month. I’ve loved attending festivals with Oxfam over the past few years; it was strange to see volunteers in their winter clothing rather than in a field, but it’s always nice to celebrate something.
March
Fast forward to March, and there were some quite fun things going on. As spring hits, things always seem nicer and rosier, with longer days and more excitement to be had.
In the middle of the month, I went to Cleethorpes with family – a flying visit on one of the first sunny days of the year, which got me excited for summer. We had fish and chips at Steele’s, which my mum has been going to as a child: a nostalgic nod to the past.
Towards the end of March, I headed to Conwy Falls in North Wales to go on an adventure in a mine with Go Below. I spent the day in the slate mine, doing various activities like climbing and abseiling, and also hearing about the history and heritage of mining in Snowdonia. Very fun!
On another note, my dad and I finished our trip along the Sandstone Trail, a 34 mile path running along the Sandstone Ridge through Cheshire. As we live not too far from it, we were doing it in sections. In March we finally ticked off the remaining two sections (the canal section at Whitchurch and the section from Delamere Forest to Frodsham). I enjoyed all the hikes and am glad we took the time to walk it.

Updates to In Search of Everywhere
Across the past three months, there have been 11 new articles on the blog (5 on South-East Asia, 3 on South America, 2 on the UK and 1 on Europe), totalling just over 22,000 words. A few of these, such as my guide to Siem Reap and my trip at the Ponta de São Lourenço in Madeira, are LONG!
What’s next?
In terms of my personal plans, the next three months are busy, with things scheduled almost every weekend. I’m heading to Cyprus for a week in May, and volunteering at Glastonbury in June. There are trips to Manchester and Lincoln planned too.
On a more personal level, early April has brought a change in location for me, as I’ve moved into a house share in Shrewsbury. I’m looking forward to exploring the city and perhaps getting out into the Shropshire Hills too!
In terms of In Search of Everywhere, I’ll continue to post articles. There are a range of destination guides still waiting to go out, both for the UK and abroad.
Here’s hoping for sunny skies, dreamy days, and joyful moments. Happy travels, and see you in July!
