Anna August 2025 Update

Hi! Welcome to my quarterly update on In Search of Everywhere, where I talk about what the blog and I have been up to over the past few months.

I meant to post this in July but forgot, so here we are. The last few months have been busy and there’s a lot to discuss!

You can find my previous updates from the past year here: April 2025January 2025October 2024July 2024

April

April seems so long ago now; was it only four months ago?

I love April and seeing all the spring flowers come out and the days get longer. April is when I get excited for summer and all the fun things that await.

I began the month with a trip to London to go on a walking tour, tracing the path of the River Tyburn. With working in flooding, going to ‘see’ the Tyburn was a treat (albeit a nerdy one) and a good way to see a new side of the capital.

I went to two concerts in Manchester, and also made it to Lincoln for an Easter panto. On the flip side, I spent a week feeling ill and sorry for myself.

All of this, and I had just moved to Shrewsbury, so I was getting to grips with the new town. It was a busy month!

May

The next month also started with a trip to Lincoln, this time for my grandma’s birthday.

In the middle of the month, I went to Paphos in Cyprus for a family holiday. There was so much of it that was great – gorgeous weather, great food – but Paphos wasn’t as inspiring or amazing as I had expected. Still, it’s always nice to get away and enjoy some relaxation.

Elsewhere, I went to a friend’s wedding, and headed to a concert at Trentham Gardens in Stoke.

June

Finally, onto June. For me, June was dominated by Glastonbury Festival towards the end of the month. I attended as a volunteer with Oxfam, which meant that I worked part of the festival, and got to enjoy the rest of it on my time off. I think it’s the best way to go to a festival, and of course Glastonbury was full of great music and activities. I had a great time.

Right before Glastonbury, I headed to Essex for a friend’s party, which had a lovely vibe and was so nice. I stayed in a shed for an interesting glamping experience; with the warm weather, it was great.

July

The last full month has been lovely and summery. Right at the start of the month, I headed to London on a Site visit for work. In the middle of the month, I went back to Lincoln for my cousin’s hen do too.

Towards the end of the month, I went to Shropshire petal fields for a walk amongst the pretty flowers. These fields are only open for ten days a year, before all the flowers are harvested for confetti, and my mum and sister praised it so much last year that I was very intrigued. The flowers were so gorgeous, and I really enjoyed walking through them!

Updates to In Search of Everywhere

Across the past four months, there were 15 new articles on the blog (1 on Europe, 3 on South America, 8 on South East Asia and 3 on the UK), totalling just over 33,000 words. One of these – my visitors’ guide to Pai in Thailand – was the hundredth blog post on In Search of Everywhere, which is a fun milestone to hit. The longest of these articles was a deep dive into my time in Canoa in Ecuador, a place which I wasn’t such a fan of…

What’s next?

In terms of my personal plans, there’s a lot to look forward to. I’m heading to Kos in Greece in October, mainly for some relaxation (and some more all-inclusive cocktails). And I have a bucket list trip to Japan planned for next March. I’m super excited for both trips.

Looking forward for In Search of Everywhere, I will keep posting articles. I’m nearly through all the posts I wrote about my travel year in 2023, but there’s still lots to talk about, including about the things I do closer to home.

Here’s hoping that the end of summer is warm and lovely!
